The Commission and Gyeongsang National University signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding for the Development of Human Rights Education and Research’ on November 18 to enhance mutual cooperation for the promotion of human rights in local communities.
With regard to human rights education and research in universities, the Commission and Gyeongsang University both agreed that the local human rights level should be improved and that both parties should endeavor to play an important role in spreading human rights values in universities in Gyeongnam Province. The primary contents of the MOU include the institutions’ roles in human rights education and research, cooperation in implementation of human rights education, mutual cooperation of human rights research in a local society, and exchange of human rights information. The Commission evaluated Gyeongsang National University’s active human rights education programs and research, which aimed promotion of human rights in local society, highly. The Commission also expects the university to play an important role in human rights education research.
