For the 60th anniversary of UDHR, the Commission and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology co-hosted a ‘Human Rights Education Campaign’ for elementary, middle, and high school students to ruminate upon the historical meaning of the UDHR.

The UDHR, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1948, stipulates that, “recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.” The United Nations is campaigning for the <Know Your Rights 2008> program for the 60th anniversary of the UDHR.

The Commission spread UDHR posters and class materials including cartoons, animation, and quizzes to elementary, middle, high school students to improve and test their understanding of the UDHR. The Commission sent human rights teachers and a traveling human rights information center to schools in the countryside from 1 to 10 December.
