April 3- On April 3, the NHRCK held a seminar to discuss the issues of the Amendments to the Fixed-Term and Part-Time Employees Act (‘Fixed-Term Act’) on the heels of the announcement of the legislation of the Amendments to the Fixed-Term on March 13, 2009. In the seminar, the NHRCK listened to the opinions of different sectors including the Ministry of Labor, lawmakers from Environment and Labor Committee of the National Assembly, scholars, and the labor sector trying to view this issue from a human rights perspective. There has not been an agreement over the relativity between the impact of Fixed-Term Act and the actual employment rate. If the legislation enters into effect, the term of fixed-term employees will be extended from 2 to 4 years.
