May 6 - “Awareness of human rights needs to be improved when it comes to business management, whether it is long-term or short-term interest,” the participants concluded at the International Conference on Business and Human Rights. The conference, co-held by the NHRCK and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), was attended by relevant stakeholders regarding developing human rights reporting indicators and discussed the ways for the human rights reporting to contribute to the sustainability of business.

Based on the sustainability reporting of GRI, the conference focused on how to specify and develop the human rights and labor sections of the report. Participants also discussed scope of business responsibility, materiality of human rights, and ways to integrate national as well as business features into human rights reporting index.

In line with these efforts, the GRI was advised to advance cooperation with the NHRCK and civil society as well as to promote reporting organizations’ awareness of present revision process of human rights reporting and the importance thereof.
