July 30 - The NHRCK decided not to run for the chair of International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutes (ICC) at its Standing Committee on July 30. The decision was made in consideration of its urgent need to tackle domestic human rights issues.
Yet, the NHRCK reiterated its commitment to regional and international cooperation, saying, “Regardless of denying the candidacy for the ICC chair, we will continue our effort to promote the national implementation of international human rights standards and will cooperate with regional and international organizations as a quasi-international institution.”
