September 15- On September 15, eleven Mongolian delegates paid a study-visit to the NHRCK to learn about the Commission’s functions and activities to address gender discrimination. The delegates included five Mongolian congressmen, the director of the UNESCO Project of Mongolia, the Head of the Secretariat of the National Committee on Gender Equality.  The delegates asked for opinions on the Gender-Equality Act in effort to increase the level of women participation in the decision-making positions. The NHRCK responded by pointing out that the quota provision is a kind of affirmative action and thus should not be rescinded in spite of the concern that it may be an instance of reverse sexism. The NHRCK further enumerated its functions and delineated the processes through which the NHRCK responds to a civil appeal regarding sexual discrimination.
