Counseling Tour for Immigrant Workers in Ansan Area

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) held a counseling tour for immigrant workers at Ansan Foreign Residents Center on 25 November 2012.

 

This counseling tour provided advice on human rights, labor, laws and regulations for the promotion of human rights of immigrant workers and identifying their human rights situation.

 

At the counseling tour, participated were counseling specialists at the Human Rights Counseling Center at NHRCK, investigator of the Immigrants’ Human Rights Team of NHRCK, lawyers, labor attorneys, public servants from the Immigration Office and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Furthermore, for the smooth communications, language service was provided for 8 languages (Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian, Indonesian, Uzbekistan, Thai and, Filipino, and Cambodian).

 

The NHRCK will try its best to provide remedy to a victim of human rights violations in case he/she was found out in the course of the tour. Also, all information will be utilized as basic data for policy review and research on the actual conditions for the improvement of human rights of immigrant workers.
