NHRCK Signed an MOU with Daejeon Metropolitan City

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea signed an MOU with the Daejeon Metropolitan City on June 30, 2016 at the Daejeon Institute for Lifelong Education.

 

The Commission and Daejeon Metropolitan City hopes that the MOU serves as an opportunity for both parties to closely cooperate to promote and protect human rights of local residents and to advance Daejeon as a leading local government for improvement of human rights.

 

To this end, the two institution agreed to cooperate for joint research on human rights issues in Daejeon, jointly develop and utilize human rights education contents and make multi-faceted efforts to protect human rights of underprivileged and vulnerable classes.

 

On the day, the Commission also opened an experience center for human rights in Daejeon. The center will provide diverse human rights education program and place to experience human rights including exhibition of related pictures and posters and role-play program.

 

The Commission hopes that the MOU serves as an opportunity to vitalize human rights education in local community, enhance people’s awareness on human rights and improve capacity of Daejeon city for improvement of human rights.
