The number of migrant workers and marriage migrants in the Republic of Korea has risen in recent years.  The purpose of the study entitled, "The State of Human Rights Abuses Against Mongolians and Vietnamese in the Migration and International Marriage Process Following the Implementation of the Employment Permit System" is to present policy and institutional alternatives by monitoring the process of migration to Korea for employment or by marriage from two Asian countries, Mongolia and Vietnam, and analyzing human rights violations occurring during these processes with respect to international human rights standards.

Pursuant to the investigation of the situation in Mongolia and Vietnam, problems that occurred at all stages of migration were analyzed on the basis of the UN’s seven principal international human rights treaties and other international human rights standards including the International Labor Organization conventions.
