With the coming into force of the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination against People with Disabilities in 2008 and the rising rate of complaints dealing with discrimination on grounds of disability, the Discrimination Remedy Department of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea(NHRCK) conducted a detailed analysis of complaints dealing with disability discrimination received and handled since the establishment of the NHRCK in 2001 up until December 2007.
The analysis provides a statistical account of the total number of complaints received that deals with discrimination on grounds of disabillity and how those complaints can be categorized based on the area and type of discrimination, the final outcome of the investigation, and the types of recommendation issued.
