Standing Commissioner Jeong Sanghwan participated to the 8th DCAF held in Amsterdam, Netherlands to make presentation under the title of “NHRCK and tasks for improvement of human rights in military: activities of an independent national institution for protection of human rights’. He introduced human rights situation in military in Korea to participants from 40 nations and 10 international human rights institutions. He insisted that there is a need to introduce a Military Human Rights Ombudsman whose position and role is independent to enhance human rights situation in military.
