The 4th Human Rights Policy Development Program for Policy Makers from 7 countries held in Seoul

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) hosted the 4th Human Rights Policy Development Program involving 14 participants from 7 countries including Nepal, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from 6 to 30 of March 2012 in cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This training program includes lectures on the Introduction to a National Human Rights Institution, International Human Rights Mechanisms, Human Rights Policy, Human Rights Education and Rights of the Child, Woman and Persons with Disabilities provided for foreign public servants who are engaged in the establishment of a national human rights institution and policy-making in their home country.

 

In addition, participants visited and had discussions with relevant institutions such as the National Assembly, Constitutional Court, Korean Institute for Gender-Equality Promotion and Education, and Migration Research & Training Centre of International Organization for Migration to share valuable lessons acquired from each other’s experience.

The NHRCK will continue contributing to the promotion and protection of human rights in the international community by sharing our experience of democratization and the enhancement of human rights through such program.
