Chairperson of NHRCK visited Center to Support North Korean Defectors

oChairperson Lee Sung-Ho of National Human Rights Commission of Korea visited the Center to Support North Korean Defectors(Hanawon) where education for social adaptation and vocational training is carried out for North Korean defectors.
o Chairperson Lee took a look at operation status of human rights education and facilities, and met with North Korean defectors receiving education to listen to their opinion in regards to the life in the facilities and educational facilities and contents. He also reviewed how the recommendations from NHRCK are being implements in regards to the right to health and labor.
o After visiting entire facilities for exhibition, education, school and gym, Chairperson Lee emphasized that in order to support North Korean defectors to settle down in Korean society without facing discrimination or human rights infringements, education at Hanawon is important the most.
o He also added that NHRCK has continued to monitor and suggest directions for policy improvement to guarantee human rights of North Korean defectors and will continue to make efforts to devise measures to support North Korean defectors smoothly settle down in Korea.
