NHRCK hosted a panel discussion on policies for female migrant workers

 O National Human Rights Commission of Korea hosted a panel discussion to discuss measures to enhance the human rights of female migrant workers on 20th June.

 

O The discussion was organized in order to listen to the voices of experts and related ministries based on the result of 2016 Survey on Human Rights of Female Migrant Workers in Manufacturing

 

O During the panel discussion, policies regarding dire working condition in manufacturing, acknowledgement of industrial accident for female migrant workers, discrimination in policies for balancing work and family and living environment and working conditions where female migrant workers are easily exposed to sexual harassment were discussed.

 

O During session 1, result of the survey conducted on 385 female migrant workers and 50 field experts was presented and policy proposal was suggested on the visa of migrant workers including the E-9 Visa and F-6 Visa.

 

O Session 2 dealt with policies on improvement of human rights of female migrant workers in manufacturing and marriage migrant women.
