The delegation of NHRCK, four members including Standing Commissioner Young-ae Choi and Commissioner Man-heum Kim, visited Europe countries such as Germany, Czech Republic, Belgium and Austria to collect information and share opinions regarding the North Korean Human rights issues, West Germany’s human rights policy toward former East Germans, and the elimination process of the violation of human rights in the previous socialism countries.
During their visit, the delegation had meetings to discuss wide-spectrum matters with EU associates, the former decision makers involved in the East-West Germany’s relations, and relevant specialists and activists of human rights.
The delegation discussed the North Korean human rights issues with Mr. Brichambaut, Secretary General of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in OSCE, Mr. de Maisiere, ex-prime minister of the East Germany and Mr. Karasek, the Chairperson of the Czech Human Rights Committee and other experts in this field.
