Seong-Hun Lee Appointed as Head of the Human Rights Policy Department
Seong-Hun Lee (48), former executive director of the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (also known as Forum Asia) based in Bangkok, Thailand, was appointed as the head of the Human Rights Policy Department of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.
Lee earned a bachelor's degree at the department of sociology, college of social science, Seoul National University (1998) and a master's degree in sociology at the graduate school of Catholic University of Korea (2005). He served as a secretary for the International Alliance of the Sarangbang Group for Human Rights (1993~ 1994); secretary for the International Alliance of the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy (1994~1995); secretary-general of the based in Geneva, Switzerland (1997~2004); and executive director of the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (Forum Asia) based in Bangkok, Thailand (2005-2008).
