Forum-Asia, a regional human rights organization in Asia, announced on its website on July 3 that Asian human rights NGOs have issued an open letter to Lee Myung-bak, the president of the Republic of Korea. Along with twenty-five human rights groups in the region, it denounced the Korean government for the excessive use of force during the crackdown of protests and NGOs.
