The NHRCK and the Institute of North Korean Studies at Dongguk University co-hosted discussion forum on “Approach Suggestions on North Korean Human Rights Situation” on September 26, 2008.
The discussion forum was planned from criticisms that previous discussion forums on North Korean human rights had not been based on systematic and reasonable investigation but on political stance. Considering that direct investigation on North Korean human rights situation is not easy, the discussion tried to find systematic and pragmatic investigation methods on North Korean human rights situation, social structural understandings and interpretations based on those investigation findings and appropriate mid-to-long term policy programs for the improvement of human rights situation in North Korea.
