Chairperson AHN Kyong-Whan participated in the commemorative ceremony of the “World Day Against Death Penalty" hosted by the National Assembly Library on October 10, 2008. In his congratulatory speech, he addressed, “We hope this year, as the 60th anniversary of the UDHR, to be the first year of abolishment of death penalty in Korea both nominally and virtually.
