l January 2 – Chairperson Ahn, Kyong-Whan visited the National Cemetery and paid homage on the first work day in 2009.
l January 13 – Chairperson Ahn delivered a special lecture on human rights at Kyonggi University to 200 elementary and middle school teachers from Gyeonggi province.
l January 30 – Chairperson Ahn visited the Dail Community, a widely-known volunteer organization for “Baffor” campaign offering free food for the needy. The word Baffor means ‘scooping steamed rice’ in Korean. During the visit organized to support the poor and vulnerable, Ahn joined the volunteers serving rice and soup to the people, in addition to donating rice and fruits for the organization.
