l          May 6 – Special Lecture on Human Rights and Environment

            

On May 6, a special lecture on human rights and environment will be delivered by Professor John E. Bonine from the Oregon Law School. The General public including the NHRCK staff, NGOs, and university students are welcome to attend the lecture.

 

l          May 6 – International Conference on Business and Human Rights

 

International Conference on Business and Human Rights, co-organized by the NHRCK and Global Reporting Initiative (“GRI”), will be held on May 6 to discuss current activities of the GRI and relevant international organizations regarding developing human rights indicators. This conference, entitled “How can human rights reporting make business sustainable?”, will be an arena for relevant stakeholders to hear and share information in relation to human rights indicators. Following presentations by Director Sean Gilbert of the GRI and Executive President Choi Jeong-Chul of a Korean CSR company, panel and open discussions will be held. 

l          May 14 – Special Lecture on War Crimes of the Bush Administration

 

A special lecture, entitled "Obama's Dilemma: What to Do About the 269 War Crimes of the Bush Administration", will be delivered by Michael Haas,   former Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Hawaii. This public lecture will cover topics from his recent book 'George W. Bush, War Criminal? The Bush Administration's Liability for 269 War Crimes', published in December 2008.
