June 3 – An international workshop on protecting the human rights of persons with mental disabilities was led by Professor Michael Stein, Executive Director of the Harvard Law School Project on Disability. The Harvard Project has published two handbooks on human rights, “We Have Human Rights” and “Change Your Life with Human Rights.” The Project promotes awareness about the human rights of mentally disabled persons.
The workshop provided an opportunity to further improve human rights education as it relates to persons with mental disabilities. Professor Stein provided international examples of the promotion of human rights. The workshop brought together a network of researchers and social workers united by the drive to promote the human rights of persons with mental disabilities.
