June 26- The Iraqi Human Rights Policy Development Program successfully came to end with its June 26 closing ceremony.

After screening a video reflecting on the Program, Chairperson Ahn Kyong-Whan and Iraqi Ambassador Mustafa Musa Taufik delivered congratulatory remarks. Participants from Iraq responded by thanking the NHRCK for providing them with human rights training.

The Human Rights Policy Development Program provided an opportunity for Iraq to strengthen the capability of its human rights officials and to promote both the establishment of a national human rights institution and the future enactment of an Iraqi national human rights commission act.

The program also allowed the NHRCK to further its involvement in the development of human rights instruments within the international society while also providing technical cooperation and assistance to newly established human rights institutions. This activity will strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights across the world.

Motivated by the success of the Human Rights Policy Development Program, the NHRCK plans to continue its international cooperation efforts in order to promote human rights in developing countries.
