September 19~28- From September 19 to 28, Standing Commissioner Yoo Nam-Young visited Washington D.C. regarding human rights issues in North Korea. During the visit, Commissioner Yoo listened experts and learned about the strategies and policies of the US government, and NGOs and INGOs regarding the issues of human rights in North Korea.
Commissioner Yoo also paid a courtesy visit to Ambassador Hahn, Congressman Frank Wolf, Congressman Edward Royce, and Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell. Commissioner Yoo exchanged overall views on human rights policies on North Korea and explained the functions of the NHRCK that are specifically devoted to human rights issues in North Korea.
