Detention of Undocumented Migrant Children Shall Be Restricted

The NHRCK recommended the Justice Minister establish new legal standards that regulate detention of migrant children to be the last resort and the shortest in terms of period, in the case that undocumented children or their parents are arrested for violating the Immigration Act. The Commission advised the alternative measures to the detention including voluntary departure and departure order. Special facilities will be needed for the protection of the families if the detention is inevitable.
