Counseling Tour for Refugees in Celebration of 10th Anniversary of
World Refugee Day
On May 9, the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) conducted a counseling tour at Ansan Migrant Community Service Center to celebrate the 10th anniversary of UN World Refugee Day of June 20 in partnership with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and Ansan city.
Through the counseling, the NHRCK listened to the opinions and difficulties of asylum seekers and legally recognized refugees. Experts from various fields joined the counseling tour in order to provide refugees and immigrants with practical support.
The counseling team forwarded the issues that require further investigation under the National Human Rights Commission Act to the Investigation Bureau for expedited remedial measures. The NHRCK will take reference to the findings from this counseling session for policy review and research.
