-The NHRCK prosecuted the head of facility and recommended her dismissal from representative of social welfare corporation -
o The NHRCK(Chairperson, Hyun Byung-chul) prosecuted Ms. Kwak, a representative of a social welfare system in OOO province, as it confirmed that she forced residents of the facility to work and exploited money from them.
o The NHRCK also made a recommendation to the governor of the province to dismiss her from the position of director of the board of OOO social welfare corporation.
o Through an investigation, the NHRCK has confirmed that the respondent had victims' bankbooks where basic living allowance were paid in and arbitrary used their money without notifying them.
o In addition, the respondent forced victims to work for the facility including farm work and harvesting crops and did not pay for their labor. The NHRCK also confirmed that the respondent punished Mr. Kang to lift and hold a chair at a restaurant for not obeying her.
o Accordingly, the NHRCK prosecuted the respondent to the Prosecutor General for embezzlement and made recommendation to the governor of the province to take necessary measures.
