The National Human Rights Commission of Korea(Chairperson Hyun Byung-chul) is opening 4 human rights education centers in 4 regions, Gwangju, Busan, Daejeon, Daegu, for promotion of human rights education across the nation.
The NHRCK opened the Gwangju Human Rights Education Center on 31 March, and plans to open education centers in Busan, Daejeon, and Daegu on 21, 28 of April and 1 of March, respectively.
At the opening of the Gwangju education center, special lecture on human rights was given, and each center of which seating capacity is around 60 people is equipped with basic tools needed for lecture such as beam projector.
The NHRCK plans to carry out human rights training programs, special lectures, and training course for human rights instructors at the regional centers.
The NHRCK, throughout the year, plans to operate training courses for human rights instructors specializing in 4 fields including child, immigration, disabilities, and mental disabilities, at NHRCK head-quarters in Seoul and the 4 regional human rights education centers.
The NHRCK hopes that regional center for human rights education provide opportunity for human rights education for public officials in charge of human rights protection, personnel working in education and social welfare facilities, thereby contributing to identifying ways for promotion of human rights of people.
