o The National Human Rights Commission of Korea hosted a ‘panel discussion on counter-measures against conflict during the process to deal with school violence.’
o Enactment of a legislation in December, 2015 led to diverse systems to deal with school violence and as a result, school violence is decreasing. However, the NHRCK still receives cases where additional damages occur due to insufficient measures to deal with school violence.
o Against this backdrop, the Commission hosted the panel discussion to study conflict cases occur during the process to deal with school violence and figure out the reason behind such conflict.
o The forum will be moderated by director general Kim Seongjun of investigation bureau of the NHRCK to share major cases and problems related to school violence.
o The NHRCK hopes that the forum serves as an opportunity to identify measures to better resolve school violence.
