“NHRC is set to demonstrate the Cyber Human Rights Learning Center" ’

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea is demonstrating its Cyber Human Rights Learning Center from 10:30 am through 12 pm on September 9, 2005 at the learning center on the 11th floor of the Commission.

The “Cyber Human Rights Learning Center” was developed for employees in government agencies and the general public. Through the internet, individuals may access the human rights education at any time and from anywhere. With a wealth of knowledge and a variety of information regarding human rights, the Learning Center is able to contribute to the promotion of human rights awareness for the public.

The Cyber Human Rights Learning Center is organized into the " Learning Center" , the " Experience Center" , and the " Knowledge Center" . The Learning Center will offer human rights education for students and teachers of elementary, middle and high schools and also for the police, prosecutors, and correctional officers respectively. The Experience Center will contain literary works of recipients awarded by NHRC since 2002. There will also be pictures, cartoons and comics about human rights. The Knowledge Center offers a glossary of human rights terminology.

NHRC had formed a consultative body of outside human rights experts in 2004 to develop the educational content of the cyber human rights education system. This event will demonstrate the significance and usefulness of building the system.
The Cyber Human Rights Learning Center will open officially on September 12. The center is available at the website address of edu.humanrights.go.kr. -End-
