The Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, Song Doo-hwan, Attended the Sewol Ferry Disaster Memorial Ceremony
On the 10th anniversary of the April 16 Sewol Ferry Disaster, National Human Rights Commission of Korea Chairperson Song Doo-hwan visited a memorabilia exhibition and attended a memorial service to express his condolences.
Before attending the memorial service, the Chairman visited the 10th anniversary memorabilia exhibition at the Ansan Arts Center, where he saw items used by the victims before the tragedy, recalled the devastating tragedy that befell ordinary high school students, and shared his deep sorrow with the visitors.
He expressed his hope that the 10th anniversary commemoration and related events will serve as an opportunity to vividly recall the Sewol tragedy. In his statement, Chairperson Song expressed his condolences to the victims and bereaved families and urged the government and the National Assembly to improve the disaster prevention system.
